The Consistency Report – Volume 8

Your Friday dose of fitness, mindset, and lifestyle takeaways to help you stay dialed in.

Two months of The Consistency Report.

Eight Fridays in a row.

Putting a date on the calendar is one of the simplest ways to build consistency. It’s why I’m big on signing up for stuff. When you make it public—or at least commit to a schedule—you remove the wiggle room. It forces you to show up.

Where can you apply this in your life?

Here is what I have for you this week.

Fitness

Sandbag Training: I’ve been mixing in some outside training lately. I love outside workouts. If you follow me on Instagram (@huntfitness), you’ve seen this.

Here’s a recent workout:

  • Pull-ups x 10

  • Push-ups x 20

  • Sandbag squats x 10

  • AirDyne sprints x 30 seconds

As many rounds as you can survive in 95-degree heat.

Drink More Water: This one sounds basic, but it’s huge. Most people walk around mildly dehydrated without even realizing it. I’ve been making it a point to drink more water first thing in the morning and stay on top of it throughout the day. Simple habit, big payoff.

Mindset

Now is not forever: This one’s tough for me because I can be a prisoner of the moment. But I think it’s important to remember: now is not forever.

It works both ways:

  • If you’re in a rough patch, things won’t always be this way.

  • If things are going well, enjoy it—because it won’t always feel effortless.

I talk to clients about this a lot. For example, when life gets busy, sometimes you have to pull back in training. Drop from 5 days a week to 3 or 4. That doesn’t mean it’s permanent. Now is not forever.

What I’ve Been Into

Chipotle: Hear me out. Between 2012 and 2015, I was a regular at Chipotle. Weekly visits. Anyone who watched my old YouTube videos knows. However, over the past few years, this has not been the case. Recently, though, I think they made changes—and they’re back. I’ve been going more, and it’s been good. Last night, the line was nearly out the door. Haven’t seen that in years.

Football: I’m not in a rush to end summer, but NFL training camps opened this week, and I’m ready. Let’s go.

This Week’s Podcast

Only one episode this week:

What can we learn from old-school bodybuilding to blend with new ideas and get the best of both worlds? That is what this episode is all about.

Final Thought

After I hit send, I’m going to take the dog for a walk, make some breakfast (4 eggs, 1 cup of oats, 1 cup of blueberries), and get around for the gym. I have arms and shoulders today.

Have a great weekend.
