The Best Diet in 2025 Is...
Happy Monday!
The first Monday of 2025 feels like the official kick-off of the new year.
Sure, 2025 started last Wednesday, but let's be honest - most people wait until Monday to start something new.
Not to put you on the spot, but did you go to the gym this morning? Did you meal prep last night?
It's okay if you didn't.
You were waiting for this email.
So, what is the best diet for 2025?
I bet you know what I'm going to say.
"There is no best diet. The best diet is the one you can stick to."
I'm impressed if you guessed that. You must listen to the podcast.
But I'm going to throw you a curve ball. There is a "best" diet. Research consistently shows one type of diet is best for health, longevity, and performance.
Are you ready?
The carnivore diet.
Just kidding. Don't be silly, haha!
The best diet is one that includes the following:
Calorie Control: The right amount of food to optimize health and performance while maintaining a good body composition.
Higher protein: ~.7-1g per pound of body weight.
Higher fiber: ~20-40g.
Higher fruit and vegetable intake: ~3-5 servings.
An overall focus on eating whole, minimally processed foods and omega-3-rich sources while limiting trans fats and excess saturated fats.
Drink sufficient water daily; adjust based on activity and environment.
Do all of these things consistently.
I could add more bullet points, but that's about it.
Unfollow anyone who tells you the key to health is following some strange diet with arbitrary rules. Most diets with names are nonsense.
The trick is following the last point.
You know what to do. You just have to do it :)
