5 Habits to Improve Your Fitness in 2025

Hey! There is no podcast this week, but I wanted to send you a quick message before the last weekend of 2024.

The new year is approaching fast and furious. But before we jump to 2025, we need to reflect on the previous twelve months.

What went well?

What do we need to improve on?

Most importantly, what new habits do we need to implement in 2025 to reach our goals?

If 2025 is going to be different, you need to be different.

I know that sounds scary, but it doesn't have to be. You just need to find a way to implement a few simple daily habits.

The right habit can change your life—more on that in a second.

This morning, The New York Times published a piece on their "Overlooked Stories" of the year. It sucks when something you work hard on gets overlooked. I know the feeling.

2024 was a big writing year for me on my website and elsewhere. Earlier this week, I turned in my 53rd article of the year. (This does not include any work involved in finishing my master's degree. )

I had some big wins but a few losses, too.

The NYT piece got me thinking. What was my most overlooked article of the year?

One immediately came to mind. I published the 5 Simple Daily Habits to Improve Your Fitness and Life in February.

It essentially went unnoticed. I'm not sure why.

Well, I'm bringing it back.

I’m convinced that if you consistently followed these five habits throughout 2025, you would be a different person this time next year.

The habits:

  1. Walk 8-10k steps a day.

  2. Eat 5 servings of fruit or veggies daily.

  3. Sleep at least 7 hours a night.

Have a great weekend!

Let me know if you need anything.
